Skip to 0 minutes and 5 seconds Have you ever wondered how you could free the  world from diseases. You can do it by using a   revolutionary approach such as the use of  biotechnological drug. You don’t need to   be a superhero, you just have to know how to  use Technologies well. I am Patricia Poverino   de Laureto and I’m a professor at the University  of Padova and together with my colleagues we will   lead you in this journey. Biotechnological drugs  are complex structures compared with conventional   drugs, since they are mainly based on peptides,  proteins and nucleic acid.

Skip to 0 minutes and 43 seconds Indeed conventional   Pharmaceuticals are chemical synthesis product  while biotechnological Pharmaceuticals are   biological products obtained in live cells.  The amazing idea of Designing drugs like this   is that by using sophisticated Technologies  we can achieve the Target and generate life   saving therapies. Products and processes are  at the heart of our course. You will study   Cutting- Edge Technologies to get to the final  product and how to handle the procedure to obtain   them. Together we will learn the development  process that goes into a biotechnological drug   from ideation to production and application.  We will go through it one step at a time. This

Skip to 1 minute and 38 seconds course is organized in three weeks: in the first  week we will start learning the process of drug   Discovery using a combination of computational  ,experimental, translational and clinical models   that are based on knowledge of a biological  Target. In the second week we will focus on   the steps that go into a biotechnological drug  from the production to its applications. Finally   in the last week by adopting a molecule center  view we will explore in depth what is important   for the characterization of the biotechnological  drug. By the end of this journey you will finally   understand that pharmaceutical biotechnologies are  much more than science in a lab.

Skip to 2 minutes and 19 seconds You don’t need to   be a superhero to change the world, technologies  will be your superpower, especially you can   fine-tune them according to your creativity, your  skills your research. Join us and find out how!
