This online course introduced participants to Earth Observation technologies, the European Space Agency’s Sentinel-1 Missions, and how citizens can validate satellite data locally using soil sensors. Participants discovered the activities of the GROW Citizen Observatory and how to become members and contribute data. Learners explored different types of soil sensors, including DIY sensors, and the links between citizen sensing and participatory culture.
