Syllabus

A comprehensive program that covers a wide variety of topics including:

  • Good password policies. We will be looking at how quickly a poor password can be cracked and what does a strong password look like.
  • Why it makes sense to use a password manager. Including real examples - e.g. can a keylogger see a password manager password?
  • Why you should never plug in a unknown USB drive (we will be launching a USB Rubbery Ducky attack similar to the one in Mr. Robot)
  • We will be talking about a variety of viruses including ransomware, what it is, how to prevent it, what to do if you are infected.
  • We will take a deep dive into why we need to be careful with our social media including social engineering attacks.
  • Phishing and spearphishing emails? We will be crafting a couple phishing emails to help identify how they are done and what to look for.
  • We will be securing our mobile devices with VPN’s, DNS redirects, best practices and more.
  • Disaster recovery, how to prepare for the worst.
