During this four-week introductory Agile course, created in collaboration with Atlassian, you’ll learn the basics of Agile project management, from Scrum and Kanban to strategies and product roadmaps.

Discover the key components of the Agile framework and Agile Scrum

The core principles of Agile methodology allow organisations to become more productive and continually improve in fast-changing environments.

You’ll start this course by understanding the history of Agile, learning what it is and why it’s valuable across industries. You’ll also delve into the Scrum framework to help you solve complex problems and sprints to help you break down projects into manageable chunks.

Learn the skills for Agile project management

There are many techniques within Agile methodology. From backlogs and standups to retros and Kanban, you need to know how to effectively prepare and use these tools to execute an Agile project.

This course will teach you how to use Agile techniques to empower teams and simplify processes, resulting in increased efficiency and improved results.

You’ll then step back and look at the Agile project management process as a whole.

Develop product roadmaps using an Agile framework

The final week of this course will take you through the creation of product roadmaps and why they’re important. With a visual product roadmap, you can visualise the project as a whole and how the short-term efforts correlate with the long-term project and goals.

    Agile, Scrum and sprints

    • Welcome to the course

      Explore the course objectives and rich history of Agile. Although Agile principles were implemented in the 1930s, it is still relevant today.

    • Agile principles, methodologies, and frameworks

      Agile is an umbrella that covers not only many frameworks but can also be applied to a variety of industries. Understand how to stay competitive in an increasingly competitive market.

    • Scrum teams, artefacts, and ceremonies

      Not all teams are perfect! The Scrum framework helps a team to learn from experiences, how to self-organise, and to celebrate wins and losses for continuous improvement. Explore how to implement the Scrum framework effectively.

    • Planning effective sprints and celebrating accomplishments

      Working on a problem? Discover why a sprint is the heart of the Scrum framework and how it can assist to solve problems faster and more effectively. Learn more about failing fast and the positive impact of failing.

    Backlogs, standups, retros and Kanban

      Experience difficulty managing a project? Discover the life cycle and structure of an Agile project and the significant shift from traditional approaches. Explore the characteristics and roles of team members for success.

    • Capturing value with user stories

      Do you know your customers? Discover how to write effective user stories based on the acceptance criteria. Understand the link between effective user stories and the success of an Agile project.

    Product roadmaps
