An example of deinstitutionalisation in Uganda

This video was kindly provided by Child’s i Foundation in Uganda. Child’s i Foundation was founded in 2009, and works to resettle children living in residential institutions with extended, foster and adoptive families.

This video provides an example of the transformation of a children’s residential institution in Uganda called My Father’s House into a programme that promotes family-based care. The staff of the facility also benefited from training and capacity building by Child’s i Foundation under the DOVCU (Deinstitutionalisation of Orphans and Vulnerable Children in Uganda) Project.
