Dr Riina Richardson
Dr Richardson is a Consultant Medical Mycologist for the NHS Mycology Reference Centre Manchester and the Clinical Lead for Infectious Diseases for the Manchester University Foundation Trust. She is also a Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Manchester. She has a special interest in antifungal stewardship as well as acute invasive and chronic mucosal candidosis. She has expertise in the management of a spectrum of other mycoses including fungal sinusitis and skin infections in compromised patients. To date she has published a total of over 100 peer-reviewed articles and books or book chapters. She is a member of the BASHH Guideline on the Management of Vulvovaginal Candidosis. She is also a keen Medical Educationalist.
Dr Stephen Hopping
Dr Hopping is an NHS junior doctor, currently working as an Educational Fellow in Infectious Diseases at the Manchester University Foundation Trust. He coordinates and delivers undergraduate Infectious Diseases teaching and he is a member of the Infectious Diseases and National Aspergillosis Centre clinical teams. He has prior experience in the field of Acute Internal Medicine. He has a long-lasting interest in antimicrobial stewardship and he was the junior stewardship representative for the Acute Medical Unit. Through his current role, this has expanded into antifungal stewardship.
