End of week 3

Congratulations on completing all the content in week 3!

This week we have been led through 2 case studies by Steven Smet and reviewed their treatments and follow up assessments. We hope you were able to put what you learned in week 2 into practice. Please do remember that it is always beneficial to discuss your thoughts on the case studies with other learners in the comments, so feel free to go back and do that on any previous step if you haven’t already.

We also looked at the implementation of a stewardship program, and the important factors to consider. The aim of a stewardship program is to provide practical recommendations to improve quality of antibiotic prescribing and therefore improve clinical outcomes, and this was discussed by Professor Dimitri Beeckman. It is also important to evaluate preventative strategies, and this was also covered this week.

Please continue to the end of course quiz, where you can test your understanding of the information you will have learned in the past 3 weeks.
