This week, you acquired knowledge about the preoperative preparations leading to an awake brain surgery. This involved the classification of tumour types and other criteria a patient has to meet to qualify for the procedure.

You watched our patient being consulted and participated in discussion about decision making from the side of the surgical team. These insights were important to understand the impact of an awake brain surgery. Next week we will tackle each of the different stages of the operation from a surgical point of view, before we go to the intraoperative testing from a linguist point of view in Weeks 4 and 5.

See you soon!
