When human remains are found

In this video we see the human remains from Palace Green being excavated. Afterwards they were brought back to the laboratory for further examination. The painstaking work of analysis, undertaken by Dr Anwen Caffell, is the main theme of this week.

We will explain the methods we used, our results and show how we reached our conclusions as to their identity. Before we get into the detail, here is a short video which explains what archaeologists do with human remains once they have been taken out of the ground.
