Hospital healthcare delivery is complex with changing priorities and demands. Improvements are required but how can we ensure they are delivered. Understanding behaviour is essential for change. This course builds on Week 5 of Antimicrobial Stewardship: Managing Antibiotic Resistance but is not a prerequisite for taking this course.

  • Understand who would do what, differently, to which patients, that would lead to improved outcomes.
  • Identify barriers and facilitators to change.
  • Use frameworks from social science to design interventions for improvement.

This course is designed for those involved in healthcare improvement, and will be of particular interest to members of Antimicrobial Stewardship Committees and team leads.

Who will you learn with?

I am the Medical School Lead for Clinical Quality Improvement at the University of Dundee. I am an Infectious Diseases Physician with a research interest in antimicrobial stewardship.

I am the Research Lead at the Centre For Behaviour Change at University College London. I am health psychologist with a research interest in implementation science and antimicrobial stewardship.
