Understand the practical considerations in the application of BIM processes
You will explore the current state of the construction industry and the need for innovation in communication and collaboration. You will also answer the question of why BIM is relevant to your discipline and look at the concept of the Common Data Environment. We will then explore model validation and how it can be carried out.

- The Common Data Environment
- Design coordination, information management and exchange
- Quality assurance and model validation, including clash detection
- BIM information exchange protocols, information workflows, implementation planning documents and execution planning documents
- BIM software tools required to assist in the delivery and exchange of information within BIM projects
- Interoperability of BIM software and file storage
