Skip to 0 minutes and 0 secondsYou may never have realised it but you encounter products and services made possible by biochemistry on a day-to-day basis. Biochemistry is being applied successfully to address a huge variety of biological problems. One of the most notorious topics from recent years is climate change, now recognised as a huge challenge facing society worldwide. Using biochemical knowledge to identify solutions to some of these problems and to help protect the environment is opening up new economic opportunities. They can reduce their operating costs by becoming energy efficient, and improve their reputation with the public, attracting more customers.
