Welcome to Week 4

Hello! Welcome back to Build a Makerspace for Young People.

I hope you enjoyed Week 3, where you were introduced to what equipment you need to set up the makerspace of your dreams, and learnt about the means to procure your desired items. You were also provided with basic health and safety guidelines to implement in your space to ensure that it runs smoothly despite all the frantic hands-on making.

During this week, we will:

  • Identify the key performance indicators for your makerspace
  • Understand ways in which you can track and evaluate its impact
  • Reflect on your action plan and share it with others on this course

Next up, you’ll hear first-hand from an educator who leads a fantastic innovation lab and who will tell you what worked, what didn’t, and what’s next for the venue. As you read his case study, make sure to note ideas that could be helpful for your own makerspace action plan.
