Legend has it that it was invented by a woman in the United States who created something similar called the Finger Spinner to keep her daughter quiet. The Finger Spinner was a good idea and the woman inventor filed a patent some years ago. Unfortunately, it never really caught on and no one bought it and it just, kind of, faded away. Some years later, films began to appear on social media of something very similar to the Finger Spinner and they went instantly viral. The Fidget-Spinner as it was then called, became a success. Millions of these spinners were sold making many entrepreneurial producers and online resellers a fortune.
