As we noted on the previous course page, children leave home and travel as unaccompanied and separated children for different reasons.
In this video produced by UNICEF, we learn about Ali, who comes from Afghanistan, and Zafar from Pakistan. This video illustrates how children and young people leave home for different reasons. Ali had to leave his home because his life was in danger and then became separated from his family as he escaped. Because of financial difficulties, Zafar had to abandon his education and seek life opportunities elsewhere. They speak of the desperation that led them to undertake their journeys and the terrible experiences they went through.
