Focus on your current practice and use your experience to develop strategies to support students with specific additional needs. Continued to develop your understanding of the causes of challenging behaviour and to further develop your online toolkit. Last week focussed on how well you know your students and this week we'll begin by considering how well you understand the additional needs of your students. This will really help to identify any gaps in your knowledge, which will further enable you to plan for good behaviour The next steps will develop your understanding of two key special educational needs.
Skip to 1 minute and 13 secondsAttention deficit hyperactivity disorder and autism spectrum disorder. We will consider the causes an the impact of these disorders on the classroom and other settings before developing strategies to modify behaviours for your toolkit. Don't forget to download your week three workbook and use your learning journal to make a record of anything of particular interest or relevance, as well as identifying any specific strategies which may be of benefit to your own practice. Seeing and supporting your conversations in the discussion spaces over the first few weeks has been fantastic and we encourage you to keep using your fellow learners to support and extend your learning to enable an improvement in behaviour in the classroom for all.
