Skip to 0 minutes and 25 seconds CAROLINE: Well, he’s mad on music, so he’s totally age appropriate for music. His cognitive level on everything else is like an 18-month-old. But for music, if it’s the latest chart hit, he can spot it in two beats. So swimming, theatre, he loves musicals. There’s lots of things he really loves.

Skip to 0 minutes and 43 seconds LAMBERT: She loves all kinds of social activities. She loves singing, music, drama. She’s into ballet and, also, she does an Indian dance.

Skip to 1 minute and 25 seconds CAROLINE: He just has this joy in him, and he looks at you with the most unconditional love. And actually, my friends say if they could get the husbands to look at them like he does to them, then that would be wonderful. But, yeah, he is a joy, and he is very happy boy, so we’re very lucky in that respect.

Skip to 2 minutes and 30 seconds LAMBERT: She is very aware about her limitations, but, at the same time, she wants to enjoy the life, as well.

Children with developmental disabilities

To begin the course, we will hear from Adrião, Caroline, Lambert, Yasmeen, Um Muhammed, Tatiane, and Galida, parents of children with developmental disabilities, as they reflect on raising a child with a disability.
