Welcome to the “Introduction to Chinese: Grammar” course!

This course is designed for learners who have a basic knowledge of Chinese pronunciation and Chinese characters and are trying to learn how to use basic grammar in sentences.

I am the course educator Li Qianping, a Chinese teacher from Shanghai International Studies University.

I have more than 25 years of teaching, research and international experience with undergraduate students and short-term trainers. I have taught all the subjects, including Intensive Chinese, Chinese Writing, Chinese Grammar, Chinese conversation, Chinese Listening and Chinese Speaking. I hope that what I’ve prepared for each of these topics will not only help you get to know fundamental sentence structure and usage, but also help you communicate in Chinese at a basic level in your daily and academic lives.

Over the next four weeks, we will focus on:

  1. Some useful words and expressions
  2. Some basic sentence structures and special sentences
  3. Simple daily communicative skills such as self-introduction and describing daily activities
  4. Some knowledge of Chinese traditional culture

Thank you for joining us! We’re eager to find out what you enjoy about this course.
