Thank you for following us here. You have already finished your third week of the grammar course. Congratulations!

In this week, you have learned a lot, such as

  • How to compare the qualities and characteristics of two things by using the preposition“比”. For example:冬天比夏天冷。Dōngtiān bǐ xiàtiān lěng.

  • the usage of the particle “了” after verbs to indicate completion of an action. For example: 她喝了一杯牛奶。Tā hē le yìbēi niúnǎi.

  • the position of the adverb “也yě (also or too) ” and “都dōu (both or all)”. Especially pay attention to the position of the adverb “都dōu ”. It has different meanings in different positions in the negative form. For example:

他们都不喜欢吃蛋糕。Tāmen dōu bù xǐhuān chī dàngāo。

他们不都喜欢吃蛋糕。Tāmen bù dōu xǐhuān chī dàngāo。

  • the usage of adverbs “就jiù” and “才cái”.

“就jiù” usually indicates something is done early or quickly, while “才cái” usually indicates something is done late or slowly. For example:

西西一天就看完一本书了。Xīxi yītiān jiù kànwán yīběn shū le.

王小宝一个月才读完一本书。Wáng Xiǎobǎo yíge yuè cái kànwán yìběn shū.
