Overview of this week

This week, Professor Daniel Brown is going to explain the dosing basics, and how to determine the right amount of drug for a patient.

Summary of Week 2:

  1. Compare and contrast the dynamics of administering a loading dose, a continuous infusion, or an intermittent dosing regimen, in terms of how to achieve a desired C0, Css, Cav,ss, Cmax,ss, or Cmin,ss.
  2. Explain how to determine percent of drug lost and how that factor relates to accumulation during a continuous infusion or an intermittent dosing regimen.
  3. Explain how the superposition principle and first-order linearity can be applied to drug dosing.
