Tools on a wooden table
Contents of a toolbox

What's in your toolbox?

What if it is the day-to-day work that is making you feel stressed, anxious, worried? Caring for others can be emotionally intensive, so it is really important to care for ourselves to maintain health.

In this step, we would like you to consider what tools you have in your toolbox. What helps you to relax, unwind, de-stress and declutter your mind? What do you do to keep your mind and body healthy? How do you provide person-centred compassionate care for yourself?

To share these ideas, please add a visual or some text to our shared Padlet toolbox (to open it in a new tab, right-click on the link). I am looking forward to trying some of your suggestions.

One example to consider is mindfulness. Mindfulness is an integrative mind-body based approach which can help people to manage their thoughts and feelings. You can access materials for mindfulness meditation online, or you might like to join a FutureLearn mindfulness course.
