Skip to 0 minutes and 2 seconds In this video tutorial, I will show you how to load in models that are on your computer’s hard drive into NetLogo Web. Again we will go to NetLogo Web, which loads in a random model. Then we will upload a model. In this case, the model is on my desktop, and I select the right consumer model and open it. And now you will see that NetLogo Web loads in your local model. Now you can start using it directly. Press the Setup button, press the Layout button, and play. Press the Go button. Again, you can change the parameters and try to replicate the network effect in which consumers will be locked into a certain choice.

Skip to 0 minutes and 55 seconds Through this technique, we can always load in custom models that you have downloaded and set on your computer hard drive into the NetLogo Web environment.

Working with the consumer choice model in Netlogo

Alright, let’s explore a model that is not included in the standard Netlogo library.

It’s the Consumer Behaviour model from Wander Jager we have seen in a previous step.

  • Open Netlogo web
  • Download the .zip file containing the Netlogo file from GitHub
  • Unzip this file on your computer to extract the model file (‘consumerchoice.nlogo’) and save it wherever you like on your computer.
  • Watch this video tutorial which will explain how you can open and work with this custom model in Netlogo web.

Alternatively, watch this tutorial, which explains how to open the model in the Desktop version of Netlogo.
