ESSA 2015 Groningen Conference

State of the art in social simulation

The annual conference of the European Social Simulation Association (ESSA) took place in Groningen in September 2015. We asked several professors at the top of their fields about their experiences in social simulation.

We interviewed three top scientists (Joshua Epstein, Klaus Troitzsch, and Gertjan Hofstede) and asked them about:

  1. Their role in agent-based modelling and social simulation.
  2. Why agent-based modelling is useful for decision makers.
  3. The future of agent-based modelling
