Making meaning through close reading

An introduction to close reading and what we will be doing on this course.

In this video Susan Fitzmaurice, Professor of English Language at the University of Sheffield’s School of English, looks at what we mean by ‘close textual analysis’ or ‘close reading’ and demonstrates how it can help us to explore and understand the literature of the English country house.
