Which you’re going to need if you’re going to be a leader in the modern day, or a manager in the modern day. Over the next four weeks, we’ll be looking at how all these concepts have evolved and how you can evolve with them. We’ll look at IQ. We’ll look at EQ, but really we’re moving beyond them. We’re moving into Cultural Intelligence. And as a result of it, I hope that you are the kind of leader who can produce change and who can adapt to change.

Skip to 0 minutes and 45 seconds With a series of activities, with exercises, with stories from leaders all over the world, we’re going to unpick Cultural Intelligence and pick your own journey. Figure out why you do what you do, and how you do it. Because your own culture means that you’ll look at other cultures through that open culture. So understanding your own culture is a pretty important part of Cultural Intelligence. And then figuring out how other people tick, and how things work, and how they see the world differently. Absolutely crucial. And then I hope that the result will be that you begin to see that this is not really a burden, or a hurdle, or a problem. It’s a vast opportunity.
Skip to 1 minute and 33 seconds Because if you can figure out how to develop the Cultural Intelligence to cross boundaries and to work with people who aren’t like you, you begin to see the world through lots of different eyes. And it’s that ability to see the world through lots of different eyes that produces, in my view, the great creativity and the ability of leaders to solve problems that are complex and messy and need you to be able to see them from every single angle.

I suspect at the end of course, you’ll have a lot of unanswered questions. And I hope you’ll be able to cope with that. Because that will prepare you for the next stages.
