Welcome to Week 2: payment security

This week our focus is on online payment security and will be led by Dr Martin Emms.

First of all, what do we mean by payment? The Oxford English Dictionary defines a payment as :

A sum of money (or equivalent) paid or payable, esp. in return for goods or services or in discharge of a debt; wages, pay.

Does this definition hold for all types of payments from primitive beginnings to cryptocurrencies?
