Introduction from the Educator

Dr. Mark Ward is an Associate Professor of Statistics at Purdue University. He is looking forward to analyzing the question “How can flight data be analyzed?” because he is a frequent flyer and thinks it is convenient to be able to look at historical data about flights! Perhaps you fly often as well and are interested in knowing more about the most popular airports and their most common flight delays or flight paths. Or, perhaps you are not very interested in flying but you are looking forward to using the R software. Mark is passionate about R and has created a number of video screencasts to help you learn it with him. By the end of this course, you will be able to use the basic functions of R for data analysis whether that’s for airline data or any other data that you might be interested in studying.
