The gender perspective in understanding inequality

In this presentation Dr. Karina Batthyany, of the Universidad de la República, Uruguay, and member of the board of CLACSO, explains how the gender dimension plays an extremely relevant role in analysing social inequalities in general, and particularly in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The questions Dr. Batthyany will address in her presentation include: How much research is done on this issue in the region?, What are the most notable proposals for overcoming gender inequalities?, What more needs to be done?

Some reference bibliography is suggested for those who wish to do further research on this issue.
