Practice extrinsic motivation
CQ drive: extrinsic interest develops as you realize the benefits of experiencing interactions with diversity. This is an opportunity to reflect on what some of those extrinsic benefits look like.
Take a few minutes and imagine you have a friend, coworker, or colleague who does not see any tangible value from learning about cultural differences. Make a list of benefits this person may receive as a result of improving their cultural intelligence. For example, the list may include promotion, job security, new opportunities, salary increase, new friends, innovation, … etc.
