How do we transform the future practice of digital learning?

The demand for digital learning (and the experts who can deliver it) continues to grow rapidly.

In this course you’ll examine what online learning is, who needs it, who creates it and why. 

From the perspective of ‘teaching as a design science’, you’ll explore the design theories and practices that are transforming the future of digital learning and digital literacy.

By working with a variety of e-learning experts, you’ll acquire a range of practical strategies to apply in your own work. You’ll also contribute your own knowledge to this emerging and exciting field of education.

    Digital learners and learning

    • Introduction to (digital) learning

      Meet the teaching team and discover who you'll be learning with as we start exploring what's transforming digital learning practice.

    • A world of digital learners

      Discover the world of global learners, what their diverse needs are and how digital learning is changing the landscape of education.

    • What is digital learning?

      Analyse what elements of the digital world create opportunities for learning.

    • Weekly wrap

      Reflect on the key ideas and principles covered in Week 1, test your knowledge and find out what's on for next week.

  • Week 2

    Design and digital practitioners

    • Design and learning

      Find out what's on for Week 2 as we begin our exploration of the relationship between learning and design.

    • Design thinking and service design

      Dive deeper into learner-centred approaches to digital learning and service design.

    • Transforming digital learning educators and teams

      Investigate how team-based collaboration is transforming digital learning practice before producing your own reflective professional practice plan.
