Round up and what’s next
This week the course has looked at a range of diverse issues and ideas that relate to building and refining your story in the edit, as well as addressing some of the key concerns about how and where to distribute your film online.
Hopefully, you’ve learned some of the key theory that underpins the art of the edit and the basic processes involved in the successful workflow, giving you a well-rounded appreciation of the craft and graft involved. We’ve also focused on music; not just how you can use it in your film, but also how learning to think about editing as a musical process can help give your story the beats, tone and rhythm it requires to be effective and successful.
Lastly, we’ve introduced some specific ideas about online distribution that should prove useful whichever platform you plan to use.
If you missed our live question and answer session on Thursday 15 October from the BBC in Birmingham you can catch up on a recording of the event here.
With the course now completed you’ve hopefully gained some real insight into how to become a creative, but critically aware filmmaker.
It’s time to get out there and start your journey as a digital storyteller!
