Round up and what's next?
This week we’ve focused on some of the principal critical concerns that surround filmmaking, and heard from experts from the BBC about what makes audio-visual narratives successful. In thinking about what makes a story meaningful or gratifying to both its creators and its audience, we’ve started to interrogate some of the assumptions lying behind it.
Hopefully you have been provoked and inspired by the material and have a growing sense of what might be involved in becoming a critically astute filmmaker.
In the week that follows, our attention turns to the pre-production phase of digital filmmaking. Here again we’ll be combining practical and critical guidance. You’ll be introduced to the technical skills and processes necessary to your shoot, and to some of the research, content and ethical issues behind the planning and structuring of your material.
We’ll see you there.
