Learn more about Disease Outbreaks in LMICs

Disease outbreaks continue to be a major contributor to global ill-health, particularly in Low- and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs). As we have seen throughout the course, there is no shortage of disease outbreaks in LMICs, and when an outbreak is undetected and a response is not triggered rapidly and effectively, the human cost can be high. We’ve seen infectious disease outbreaks throughout history, and they are not going away.

However, we can better prepare for and respond to outbreaks to more effectively prevent and reduce their impact for better global health in the future. Many staff and students from across the school are actively engaged in disease outbreak research.
