There are roughly 23 million native speakers of Dutch in the Netherlands, Belgium and Suriname, the countries where Dutch is the official language. Dutch is offered as a main subject or secondary subject at 175 universities in 40 countries. This means that there are thousands of students learning or studying Dutch abroad, so you are not alone!

We have approached other learners of Dutch from Zagreb, Beijing, Vienna and Sheffield and asked them to record themselves. In this section you will listen to two different students talking about this week’s topics. Can you understand some of what they are talking about? Give it a try!
