Thank you for completing week two of the e-Bug Health Educator course.

This week we covered food hygiene and oral hygiene, including how to prevent foodborne illness by washing hands at critical points and preventing cross-contamination. We also covered the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene and limiting sugary foods and drinks to mealtimes to ensure that “sugar attacks” are kept to a minimum. We also looked at practical activities that you can use to teach about good food hygiene and oral health.

Next week is week three, the final week of the e-Bug educator course, in which we will cover antibiotics and self-care with e-Bug “Bug Busters” activities. Several of the topics covered so far have discussed the spread of infection and the overall effect of our behaviours on the development of antibiotic resistance. We will be discussing antibiotics and antibiotic resistance in more detail, to provide a thorough overview of this important public health topic: with videos, interactive activities and a case study. We look forward to seeing you here again next week for the final week of the e-Bug educator course.
