Breastfeeding Counseling: A Training Course

This document from WHO is designed to provide health workers with the skills needed to support mothers and their children to breastfeed optimally. It includes guides for the course director and trainers, a participant’s manual, a booklet with overhead figures, a slid book and annexes.

Breastfeeding is fundamental for the health and development of children and important for the health of their mothers. However, in many cases, mothers who breastfeeding initially stop breastfeeding within a few weeks after delivery due to many different reasons.

How can health workers help mothers to sustain breastfeeding? Proper training is required for those health workers. This document is designed to train essential skills and experience for them. How do you think of this training document?
