Meet the educator – Jan Verveckken

Hello!

My name is Jan Verveckken, your educator during this week. Before we dig into the content, let me introduce myself shortly.

I have received my M.Sc. in Electrical/Mechanical Energy Engineering from KU Leuven in 2006, and my Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from KU Leuven in 2015. My specialty is control of power electronic systems, with the main focus on motor drives, AC FACTS and distribution grid connections. After my Ph.D., I worked in strategic management consulting office Bain&Co and as a researcher in Motor Controls at the research institute Flanders Make. In the recent past, I was part of the quality control department of Audi Brussels, focusing on battery module and drivetrain. In my free time, I am Secretary of IEEE Region 8 and sub-lieutenant in the Belgian Air Force Reserves.
