    The importance of energy storage

    • Introduction to energy storage

Energy storage could revolutionise the power and transportation sectors and affect several businesses. This is what we see in this activity to understand some of the most promising types of energy storage and their importance.

    • How will energy storage change the transportation and power sectors?

One of the biggest challenges today is the transformation of power and transportation sectors. Battery storage could revolutionise both the sectors, as we will see in this activity.

    • How will energy storage transform our lives?

This activity will give an overview of how energy storage is expected to affect the future. Is it possible to have 100% renewables?

  • Week 2

    Large scale battery production

    • What is the supply chain of lithium batteries?

Large-scale battery production is surging and new players appear in different parts of the supply chain. In this activity, we explore the supply chain of lithium-ion batteries.

    • The manufacturing process of batteries

In this activity, a representative of a large-scale battery production facility explains every step of the manufacturing process of lithium-ion batteries at these facilities.

  • Week 3

    Energy storage application: industrial products

    • The future of the undergound mining sector

Battery storage can financially and sustainably revolutionise the future of industrial products in underground mining.

    • The business case of electrification in underground mining

A representative of an underground mining company, which will soon go fully electric, presents the relevant business case.

    • The environmental impact of batteries for underground mining

It’s crucial that we also understand the environmental impact of battery storage. In this activity, we will explore the environmental impact of batteries for the mining industry.

  • Week 4

    Energy storage application: Electric Vehicles

    • Electric vehicles - current market

In this activity, we will explore the current worldwide electric vehicle market, including the price and range development but we will also look at the major players and current growth in EV manufacturing.

    • Electric vehicle charging infrastructure

In this activity, we will explore the different existing types of charging infrastructure. We will also discuss possible future trends and the key players in the field.

    • Electric vehicles - business models

Did you think electric vehicles could play a role in the stability of the electricity grid? In this activity, we will discuss the link between electric vehicles market and stationary storage, exploring different business models.
