You’ve almost completed Essential Skills for Your Career Development.

During this course, you have learned to do the following:

• Identify different modern approaches to growing your career.
• Explore a roadmap and vision board for your career path.
• Explain your career vision.
• Identify key individuals, organisations and platforms for your network.
• Develop communications to engage key leads.
• Evaluate the impact of your strategy and iterate accordingly.

If you have marked as complete over 90% of the course steps, it’s time to check your understanding by taking part in the end of course test. By achieving a mark of 70% or more you will earn a Certificate of Achievement. You can share this with your friends and family to show them what you’ve learned. You can also share it on social media, such as LinkedIn, as a way of showing employers and colleagues your new skills and knowledge.

Remember that if you complete all three courses within the Collaboration, Communication and Remote Working program, you can unlock a FutureLearn Award. This is your own FutureLearn web page exhibiting all of your certificates. You can use this link to demonstrate your learning on any online profile, or to send to employers.

Taking your learning further

Continuing to learn and develop skills for your career doesn’t end here. Think about all that you’ve learned over the last two weeks and start to find ways to implement this into your everyday life. Whether that’s at university or college, or in the workplace, you can start to build relationships for your network, practise your communication and think about what your current curiosities are.

Why not attend a networking event? You could create a new vision board if you feel your intentions have changed. Set yourself targets on a new roadmap designed to help you continue developing the skills you’ve learned during this course. The options are endless.

The most important thing to keep in mind is that practising what you’ve learned, and taking the steps to further your skills in the areas you want to explore for your career, will be beneficial for you. This is true no matter what path you choose.
