Explore the application of human ethics to AI development

‘AI for Social Good’ is a major campaign to ensure different sectors, including healthcare, justice, agriculture, transport, finance, hospitality and education, apply AI for the greater good.

In this short course, you will have the chance to learn about the different laws governing computer use, the ethics for AI, and the obstacles to ethical practice in AI development.

What topics will you cover?

  • Laws governing computer use
  • Ethical frameworks for technology (normative theories: consequentialist; non-consequentialist)
  • The ethical issues in nascent artificial intelligence

This course is useful for anyone who wants to know what ethical issues have emerged in nascent artificial intelligence (AI) through the application of algorithms, machine learning and data science, to better manage AI development teams.

Dr Mark Elshaw is a lecturer and researcher at Coventry University. His teaching and research interesting include AI, neural network, AI ethics, biological inspired computing system.
