Skip to 0 minutes and 6 secondsHamlet is perhaps Shakespeare's best known tragedy. In fact, it's been described as the most frequently performed play in the world. During his lifetime, Shakespeare was an actor and performed in his own plays. It's believed that he acted in Hamlet, playing the role of the ghost of Hamlet's father. Hamlet is the Prince of Denmark, and his father was the old king. Much of the story is about what happens to the King and how he died. Central to this is the dead King's brother, Claudius, who was Hamlet's uncle. Rather strangely, he's also now married to Hamlet's mother. This week, we hear from Zimbabwean actor, Tonderai Munyevu, who has performed in several roles in Hamlet, and various different productions throughout Africa.

Skip to 1 minute and 3 secondsFirst, Tonderai tells us the story of Shakespeare's great tragedy, Hamlet.
