During the first two weeks, we showed you how you can use the shoot and screen framework to create curricula focused short films. We've explored the different types of films you can produce and made our own films for the classroom. In Week 3 we'll be exploring animation and why creating animations in the classroom can be so beneficial to both teachers and pupils. We'll examine different styles of animation and how to create sets and characters as well as planning how to create animation in a classroom environment.

Welcome to Week 3

Welcome back to Filmmaking and Animation in the Classroom. This week we will help you to build on the Shoot and Screen framework to create a curricular-themed animation for use in class.

Within the Think, Plan, Create and Evaluate framework we will learn how to:

  • Understand frames and how animations trick the eye into perceiving movement

  • Become familiar with a range of animation techniques and their application in the classroom

  • Recognise different types of animation, including silhouette, paper cut out and claymation

  • Create a short animation that will be linked to the curriculum.
