Professor Roianne West

I am a descendant of the Kalkadoon and Djaku-nde Aboriginal Peoples, and current Director of Griffith University’s First Peoples Health Unit as well as a Foundation Professor of First Peoples Health.

I am passionate about ensuring health professionals have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver both culturally and clinically safe care to my people.

Dr Debbie Bargallie

I am a descendant of the Kamilaroi and Wonnarua Aboriginal Peoples of the North West and upper Hunter Valley regions of New South Wales. I work as Academic Lead of the First Peoples Health Program at Griffith University.

My doctoral research has examined the experiences of everyday racism for Indigenous employees in the Australian Public Service. I am currently Secretary of the Australian Critical Race and Whiteness Studies Association (ACRAWSA).

Professor Gregory Phillips

I am a descendant of the Waanyi and Jaru Aboriginal Peoples and CEO of Abstarr Consulting. I am also Professor (Adjunct) with Griffith University’s First Peoples Health Unit.

I have lived, worked and studied with Indigenous peoples globally for the last twenty-five years. I am also a national and international leader on issues of cultural safety, race, whiteness and power.

Renee Blackman – Renee is the former Director of Health Services at ATSICHS Brisbane. Her current role is CEO of Gidgee Healing, Mt Isa.

Leeona West – Leeona has many years experience working as a registered nurse with First Peoples.

Janine Mohammed – Janine is the CEO of CATSINaM – The Congress of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Nurses and Midwives.

Karen West – Karen has many years experience working as an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioner.
