Welcome to How do We Counter Fraud and Protect the Victim, the second week in Fraud Investigation: Making a Difference.

Last week, we looked at the definition of fraud, its factors and enablers and the main types of fraud seen in the UK.

This week, you will gain an understanding of the nature of fraud and how it is committed, it will give you the tools you need to be able to confidently investigate fraud crimes. We will also concentrate on ‘busting’ the widely-held myth that fraud is so complicated that only experts are in a position to do anything about it. In fact, fraud is a crime that everyone can actively do something to prevent and counter.

In particular, we will look at:

  • The Fraud Investigation Model (FIM)
  • Conducting a successful fraud investigation

You will also be asked to complete a final quiz based on what you have learned across this course.
