Future tense with sille
The verb sille (shall) can be used to express an intention or a future tense.
This is the present tense of sille:

Word order
The verb sille is a modal verb and so the construction follows the same pattern:
subject – sille – rest – action verb
For example:
| Ik sil drave. | I am going to run. |
| Ik sil oer in healoere te sporten. | In half an hour I am going to do some exercise. |
| Hy sil takom jier wer studearje. | Next year he is going to study again. |
Meaning
Sentences with sille and an action verb express an intention, like ‘going to’:
| Wat sille jim útfine? | What are you going to do? |
| Ik sil yn ‘e bibleteek studearje. | I am going to study in the library. |
