Skip to 0 minutes and 5 secondsAre you ready for the Frisian alphabet? (USING FRISIAN NAMES) A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, Y, Z. Now pay careful attention to the following letters and their pronunciation.

Skip to 1 minute and 0 seconds(USING FRISIAN NAMES) A, E, I, H, U, W, Y. Note that the Y sound has three different spellings.

Skip to 1 minute and 22 secondsVowels can also be combined, and they then make different sounds. Now we will take a look at the most common vowel combinations. A U and O U become "ow," like in "augustus".

Skip to 1 minute and 46 secondsI and E become "ee-yuh." "Ien".

Skip to 1 minute and 55 secondsDouble I is "ee," as in "fiif". E followed by I becomes "ay," like in "tweintich". E followed by A is "ey-yuh," like in "neat".

Skip to 2 minutes and 23 secondsO and E is "oo-uh," or "oo," as in "goed" or "hoe". U and O is "oh-uh," as in "bruorren". E and U is "oh-ooy," like in "keuken". E and O is "euh-uh," as in "freon". O and A is "oh-uh," as in "oant". Here are some example phrases on spelling.
