Graham Holton (Educator)
Graham is the Principal Tutor on the MSc in Genealogical, Palaeographic and Heraldic Studies by Distance Learning.
He also teaches on the University’s eight-week online course – Genetic genealogy: an introduction run by the Centre for Lifelong Learning.
Graham was a librarian in higher education for many years while maintaining an active interest in genealogy and family history from an early age. Having experience in teaching evening classes on genealogy at the Centre for Lifelong Learning for a number of years, he was closely involved in the development of the University’s Genealogical Studies Postgraduate Programme.
He led the Battle of Bannockburn Family History Project run by the Postgraduate Programme and is still undertaking further genetic genealogy research related to this Project. His own ancestry is varied in terms of geographical origins (England, Scotland, Ireland) and social class, but still leaves questions to be answered.
