Welcome to Global Ethics: an Introduction.

The course team

This course has been developed by four philosophers from The Open University: Sean Cordell (author of Week 1), Jon Pike (author of Week 2), Mark Pinder (author of Week 3) and Manuel Dries (author of Week 4). You will get to know each of them as the course progresses.

What you will learn

In the first week, you are introduced to the ideas of what global ethics is broadly about, and why it matters. In the second week, you look at the challenges of global inequality and are introduced to some moral theories. Then in the third week you explore migration and how global ethics impacts on it. In the final week you examine some major ethical questions relating to climate change.
