Skip to 0 minutes and 6 seconds It means insuring that, everyone in the world no matter where you live who you are, can have clean water; safe water. Coming from a dry country Namibia, water security really means having the water there in the first place. In the last few years we have suffered so much, there is drought. so just having water, enough good quality enough quantity Means so much. Well to me water security means making sure we meet the needs of all stakeholders involved in the water system, making sure we create benefits for the economy, social benefits whilst not detrimentally affecting the environment Water security means having fresh and clean water that everyone can access from their kitchens and taps at anytime.
Skip to 0 minutes and 53 seconds I think it’s about making sure stakeholders can trust the water industry to deliver clean, safe water to all of it’s customers. It means freshwater flowing through the rivers It means the fish coming back upstream, because we are losing fish, on all our river systems Things like water scarcity, so climate change potentially reducing the amount of water that’s available and also customers expectations and requirements for water will be changing as well. There are some emerging problems like marked problems and we are really in the ignorance In this country people are still very surprised when the water stops from their taps. and they don’t know where it comes from, and they don’t recognise the linkage through to the environment.
