Dr Abbo is an Associate Professor of Infectious Diseases at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and Chief of infection prevention and control (IPC) and antimicrobial stewardship (AS) at Jackson Health System (JHS) in Miami, Florida.
She is a clinical expert in the management of antimicrobial resistant and transplant associated infections at the University of Miami/ Jackson Memorial Hospital Miami Transplant Institute, a Fellow of the Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA), and a member of the Joint Antimicrobial Stewardship Taskforce, Quality Improvement and Education Committees for the IDSA and the Research Committee for SHEA. She is the Principal Investigator on a number of funded research projects related to antimicrobial stewardship.
Dr Paño-Pardo is specialist in Internal Medicine and expert in Infectious Diseases. He is Infectious Diseases attending physician at Hospital Clínico Universitario “Lozano Blesa” (HCU) in Zaragoza, a 800-bed academic institution, where he chairs the antimicrobial stewardship (AS) committee. He is a clinical expert in the management of antimicrobial resistant infections as well as in the diagnosis and management of infections in the healthcare setting.
He is member of the executive committee of GEIH (nosocomial infections study group) of the Spanish Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (SEIMC) and of ESGAP (ESCMID Study Group for Antibiotic Policies). He is actively taking part in the Spanish National Plan against Antimicrobial Resistance. He also coordinates a Spanish blog focused on antimicrobial resistance and stewardship www.proantibioticos.com.
Dr. Rossana Rosa is an Infectious Diseases consultant at UnityPoint Health in Des Moines, Iowa. She cares for patients with a variety of infections on a daily basis, and also conducts Antimicrobial Stewardship activities.
